| 6:45PM - 9:00PM | The regular meeting for the FWIADA occurs on the fourth (4th) Thursday of every month except June and December. Those month's are reserved for our annual Summer Party and Christmas Party in December. FWIADA currently has 83 Members from around the Fort Worth/Tarrant County area. Some of our guests have included: Betsy Price-Current Mayor of Fort Worth and (former)Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector; Ron Sturgeon- Entrepreneur/Author;Charles McDowell- Lead Auditor for the Comptroller of Public Accounts on how to survive an audit; Garry Meissner-Examination & Enforcement-OCCC on what to expect from an OCCC audit; Aaron Sturman,from Car Financial on-fair debt & collection pratices; Jeff Martin-Exeucutive Director for TIADA; Jimmy Evans-TIADA Lobbist; Senator Chris Harris-Senate District 9; Marc Veasey-State Representative District 95; Charlie Geren-State House of Representatives; Carolyn Coverson- TxDOT VTR; Jim Campbell-Board Member of MVD; and Mike Moncrief- (former)Mayor of Fort Worth. This chapter also receives regular updates from Michael Dunagan, TIADA General Counsel.

| Jun 6th, 2011 | Thanks to all who attended our annual summer party at Lone Star Park on June 5th. We had lots of great food and good times with friends and fellow car dealers. I hope most that someone won some money on the horses because I know I didn't. But a good time was had by all.

Our sponsor was Allen Dobbins from AutoStar who had very informative information on thier AutoStar software for dealers. Our guest speaker is someone we are very proud of and honored to have at our meeting, Mayor Betsy Price. Mayor Price inspired us with her vision for the future of Fort Worth and the plans she has for our wonderful city. | |
| Aug 25th, 2011 | The August FWIADA meeting was packed with information!
It started with our guest speaker Michael Langlios the Executive Director of Sales for Goldstar GPS. Michael described all the attributes, uses, and prices of their GPS systems. The interest and questions were so great that the presentation went over the scheduled time. Their was a lot of interest in Goldstar. The guest speaker was our one and only former President Scott Allen. Scott will be the President of TIADA starting September 1st. In addition, he is also the winner of the prestigious 2011 National Quality Dealer of the Year award. Scott updated us on the upcoming universal license and registration fees for all vehicles starting September 1st. All vehicles will require 12 month registration, regardless of when the tags would have expired. The new fee for most passenger vehicles and light trucks will be 62.75. This is across the board up to vehicles whose weight is over 6000 pounds. 6000-10,000 lbs is 66.00 10,001-18,000 lbs is 122.00. For a copy of this new schedule break down or any questions please contact your local Tarrant County Tax Office. Scott also gave his vision for TIADA and trying to do away with unnecessary paperwork when writing up contracts. In summary he stressed how important we as indivual dealers are, and the changes we can make when we stay involved. | ||
